simple things...

My creation

Some days it's all about the simple things that cause you pleasure. As I'm new to the world of blogland I'm still getting to grips with this posting lark but today I worked out how to adjust my template so that I can have larger photos and a slightly wider layout - yay! Like I say, it doesn't take much to please me but I feel as if I'm settling into my new home here...

I heart books...

Especially the kind of books that fire your imagination. I was lucky enough to get this Shannon Fricke book as a gift for Christmas and now that it's cold and miserable outside, it's just perfect for dipping into and enjoying the gorgeous photos.

Lots and lots of pages of inspiration and she has a blog here if you want to check out more...

So tired...

Today I really didn't want to get out of bed, no I mean really - I could have stayed curled up in the warmth all cozy. I know Mondays are generally like that for most of us but after going to the Seasick Steve gig last night it was 1am before I hit the pillow and the alarm went off at 5.30am this morning - grrrrrrrr. So not much sleep - yawn...

Still it was so worth it - that guy rocks and if you don't believe me check him out here and you'll see what I mean...

So this is how it starts...

A few lines a couple of photos and here I am. Last year was all about doing my Flickr 365 photo project - taking a photo each day for a year. That finished earlier this month so I thought I needed a new challenge - so my journey into the world of blogland has begun... I still haven't sorted my list of resolutions for this year but creating a blog was one of them and I've managed that before the end of January so I'm not doing too badly so far! Now i just need to sort the rest of my list out!

Anyway, this is how my weekend looked so far...

A little bit of snow and some sunshine...

Unexpected snow at that...

Followed by the thaw...hard to believe how quickly it came and went. Now when I look out of the window there's no trace - which is probably just as well as I'm off to see Seasick Steve at a gig in about an hour...
